Im run debian on both my machines, and find it to be very powerful. Mostly
i like it because it is NOT a commercial distribution. Its completely free
and developed by users, not a company. this means you can buy CDs from
cheap bytes for around 5$, or download your own image to burn.
Asside from that, it uses a package manager to keep depends and everything
working right. RPM is not the native package tool, but using alien you can
install and use rpms and slackware(i think) packages as well as the debian
issue ones.
