 You missed RGB's brilliant discussion on how to setup a local news server~
to cache the Usenet groups that you use frequently and downloading the~
traffic in batches when your modem isn't doing anyhing else.  The program~
is nntpcached and newshound.  After a couple of false starts I had it~
running pretty good,  and now alt.os.linux or comp.os.aix is faster than~
my mouse can click.  Makes Usenet actually usable.~
