The package called "SAMBA" can make a Linux server look like an NT server,
and you can connect-net-drive from a Windoze PC. Samba comes standard with
Redhat and a number of other distributions. The Samba home page is at:
http://lake.canberra.edu.au/pub/samba/
For WinNT & Win98 clients, there is a registry modification that needs
to be made so they can connect to Samba. For Win98, look in the /windows
directory for the filename "network.txt", and it tells how to make the mod.
The same information is also in the Samba documentation. Nothing needs
to be changed in Win95 and WFW AFAIK.
IMHO, Samba is great stuff. I use it at work for all our PC's, and I use
it at home to share printers and directorys with my wife's Win95 box.
