LINUX networking

Hi all.
    I'm curious about a specific application of a LINUX server. Is it
possible to make a directory on such a box appear to a PC as a
physical drive (i.e. like drive mapping in the NetWare world)? If
someone has heard of this, or can point me to a document/web site/etc.
that references such a manuver, I would be most appreciative. TIA!
