Meeting July 28th - The New Linux: The 2.2 Kernels to come
The 2.0.x Kernels have carried Linux from a fringe operating system to the
talk of the computer industry. It was on 2.0.x Kernels that many of the showcase
applications and acheivements for Linux have taken place. Now the stage is set
for the next generation of Linux Kernels -- software which may well reqpresent
a leap forward in what is possible with your Linux machine.
Think you've seen it all? Come to this presentation, and find out for sure!
Bruce Smith has worked as a software developer, system administrator, and now
network administrator at Armstrong International in Three Rivers, Michigan.
His network is a heterogeneous UNIX/Linux/Microsoft system, and he uses the
tools and techniques to be covered quite often at Armstrong. Bruce has been
instrumental in making KLUG what it is today, with frequent presentations and
other contributions to the group.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Meeting attendence is important! Coming to three meetings will qualify you
as a full member of KLUG, meaning that you can participate in the process of
making formal decisions, including voting for officers.
During the last week in January, KLUG decided (by vote) to define a voting
KLUG member as one who has attended three KLUG meetings:
"In order to make any group wide decisions during a meeting, at least
7 people must be in attendance, and each of these 7 people must have
been to at least 3 meetings before."
As there are people who are examing how to better organize KLUG to serve a
growing list of people interested in Linux, it's important to be aware of
this so you can be assured of participating in any group decisions.
