adding nic

Hi folks,

I had it running once before. I guess I shouldn't have screwed with it.
Ah well, the joy of experimentation. :)

I want to add a network card to my Linux box, RH5.0. I know it's an
Intel EtherExpress (ISA), as I had it operating under NetWare no
problem. It's not like Win95, where it auto-detects it, is it?

Because the install couldn't find the NIC, I was unable to configure IP
settings. Where exactly is that information stored? When I run ifconfig,
it looks like there is only the local interface, lo. I don't see the
eth0 listed.

Sorry for the rather newbie type questions. I've finally reached a point
where I can start dedicating some time to really learning/enjoying
Linux. Thanks for any directions.
