Cool. I have been a sys-admin for around 5 years (I dropped out of college to
do this). Having worked with AIX (on RS/6000's) and SCO I can testify that
Linux on the whole is a superior OS. Currently I have 100+ Redhat 4.2 boxes
as "network computers" all over the state of Michigan, and a few in Indiana,
as well as a Linux firewall and a RedHat 5.0 server that does DHCP, DNS, and
user-authentication (via NIS, Samba, and some special code) for the entire
network (around 200i+ users). It is a PPro 200 and I have never seen it's load
average pass 0.50 even when compiling new server processes. For commercial
use I'd strongly recommend RedHat as the package managment can save you some
REAL pain.
