You may not find this setting in any file.  On my Compaq machines (all 40 or so
of the acursed abominations) the screen blank is a video card functions
controlled by a setting in the not-so-BIOS-BIOS that you can change by prssing
F10 when the machine starts if you have MS-DOS installed.  It is a Power
Conservation feature,  and not really a bad one.  X by default does not do any
screen saver or blanking (at least in Redhat anyway) so it is most likely an
APM thing, so check your BIOS and see if you have APM compiled into your
kernel.  If you do you should "if they followed the standard" adjust it with
the APM tools under Linux.
