hey, do you have minicom installed? if you
do, as root type minicom -s. that will start minicom in the configure
mode. from there go to the serial port config section. mess around
with /cua2 and so on. when you get the right port and minicom starts, you
will see your modem's answer to the initialization string appear on your
screen. if you don't see that appear, you probably aren't on the right com
port.
once you have a com port
