Mike what /dev file represents your modem? mine is /dev/cua2 (com3), but
I'm hearing that ttySx is getting to be the standard. Do you have a
/etc/ppp/options, /etc/resolv.conf, and /usr/sbin/ppp-on files?you can
get some reasonably usable, copies by going to ,
http://www.net-link.net/~troll/resolv.conf and strangely
enough,http://www.net-link.net/~troll/ppp-on. If your files are a
reasonable facsimile, you should be able to dial out and make an ISP
connection. However, if you can't try, configuring "minicom" to your
modem, and using that to dial out, selecting
Ctrl-A q after you've made the login, then type
"/usr/sbin/pppd", and then type "ifconfig" to see if your ppp connection
is successful. If that doesn't work, e me back with any particulars
