RE: Catia CAD Software + Linux = ? (fwd)

CATIA is one fo the top three(maybe four) high end design packages available. it happens to be IBM's flavor of high end packages, but it's on par with ProEngineer, Ideas, and the rest of the stuff used by the Big three automotive industry, the aerospace industry, etc.

I don't have a clue what CATIA is, but if you simply mean CAD software there
is LinuxCAD (a commercial product) it sells for about $200 a copy after you buy
all hte modules, and reads/writes AutoCAD files. Looked at it once but never
really used it. Also iBCS will let you run almost all SCO Unix software, and
most commercial UNIX apps are available for SCO.
