Re: Booting problems
I've stayed out of this up to now because I've never installed Linux
on a disk drive connected to a Adaptec 1520 SCSI controller, nor have
I ever used at AHA-1520. But they are listed as supported in the kernel
config. This is from the kernel documentation:
"This is support for the AHA-1510, AHA-1520, AHA-1522, and AHA-2825 ..."
I don't know if specific distributions support the AHA-1520 during the
install process, or in their stock kernel. I would be very surprised
if it didn't work with a custom compiled kernel with support built in.

I'm sorry, but I have to set the records straight there.
It's true we are always trying to encourage people to attend meetings.
That may cause it to look like our attendance is poor to someone who
has never attended a meeting, but quite the opposite is true. We have
had VERY GOOD ATTENDANCE at most meetings in the last few months (IMO).
Lately we've been averaging around 15-20 people at meetings, and we
currently have 101 people on the mailing list (I just looked).
You can draw your own conclusion from those numbers, but I think that's
very impressive for a group that meets EVERY WEEK and has only existed
for about 13 months.
Since I'm wasting bandwidth, let me put a plug in for this weeks' meeting.
I'm personally really looking forward to the Panel Discussion of Different
Linux Distributions. Even though I am representing Redhat on the panel, I
am also eager to learn more about other distributions that I've never used.
And let's not forget, there will be *PIZZA* at the meeting Tuesday evening!
