I don't have any experience with SCSI, but I believe that the most
common isa scsi cards would be supported, at least to a larger extent
than pci versions. I'd point you to a nearby mirror of the Linux
documentation Project(don't have a URL handy, so you'll have to use
yahoo or other search engine)
 I think there's a Linux Compatability HOW-TO, that states which cards
are supported, the Boot Prompt HOWTO tells ways to tell he kernel that
it needs to look for xxxcard.
I refrained from answering the original post for reasons staed on the
first line, but since no authoritative answer was given, here's my $.02.

I won't go into the issue of arrogance of our members, except to say I
have very thick skin and they don't bother me much.

Sorry for the disappointment, you might be more well advised to connect
to a closer group, I'm sure there are several in NY state. Hands on help
is the only way for some problems, depending on your level of expertise.
