samba

I am kinda new to linux, and i am trying to setup samba, so i can veiw my
files on our network. I just want to be able to view all the files on my
linux box, as if i were actually logged in to my linux box. i have read all
about samba, and am not doing really well with it. 
i have it so windoze can see my linux machine, but it keeps asking me for a
password, and it won't connect to the linux box.
Any help would be much appreciated, or if there is anything easier to use,
please send it my way...
