I need more info about exactly what you are doing to be
able to help.
Can you access the directories when you're logged on to
Windows as a non-root userid that has the same user and
password as the Linux box?
Can you access _any_ of the directories in your config?
(/tmp, /home or the redhat CD?)
What version of Windows are you running? If it's Win 98,
you may have to make a change in your registry to access
Samba. The details how to do this are in a file named
something like "network.txt" in your \windows directory.
Look for "Samba" or "plain text passwords".
Also, let me say that it's a REALLY BAD IDEA to give root
access to your Linux files through Samba. It can be a
huge security hole, especially if you are dialed in or
otherwise connected to the internet. It's much better to
only give user level access to files, and only share the
directories that you really access to (not everything).
