Someone asked where you've istalled lilo...this is critical. If you are 
going to boot with system commander, don't install it on the master boot
record, or you will destroy it and have to repair it with "fdisk /mbr".
You can usually install lilo on the linux partition, in your case
/dev/hdb1, and ignore the warning message about not being on the first
hard drive. Then, hopefully, you can leave the hard drive linux resides
upon as 'slave' and not have to mess with your computer.
