My Partitions
I finally figured out why Red Hat Linux 5.0 wont install on my
computer. I have a Primary partiton, an extended partiton w/ 2 logical
partitions inside of that. So it reads it as 3 i think. And there
really isnt a way i can erase any of these partitions w/o loosing some
major data. Is there anyway i can get around this lil problem? Or how
many and what partitions do i atleast have to have in order to get linux
to install and run correct? I know i need the swap partition and the
root partition, but which other ones do i need to have? I went over to
my friends house today to install it on his computer, and he had the
same problem, but luckly it was a new HD and he could just erase the
partitions because there was nothing on them and then it installed great
w/o another problem! So what are the basic partitions i need to run
linux and still get everything i need out of it?
