Did you turn OFF the on-board COM2 port in the BIOS?

And make sure there is not a COM4 which could be an IRQ conflict.
(do NOT set the on-board COM ports to "auto", shut them off if 
they are not being used -- and shut the second com port off anyway, 
or give it a different IRQ like 5)

BTW, have you tried your new video card with XFree86 3.3.3 yet?
If so, how well does it work?
