We have a Philips at work, also. While we only use it on Windows 95,
I, too, have found it to be very tempermental. We seem to get better
results from Verbatim DataLife CD-Rs, but even that is a crap-shoot
sometimes.

While we're on the topic, I'm looking at a Digital Research ROM
writer. Anyone had or heard of any experiences with these under Linux?
