i already have an STB Velocity 4400....... it's based on an nVidia Riva 
TNT chipset........ which is supported by X as of XFree86 3.3.3 
...............  and if u are going to be using it in windows at 
all....... it's a very good gaming card......... :)  full openGL out of 
the box....... and fasttt....... and has TV out.....  but i don't think 
(i may be wrong) but i don't think the Xseerver for nVidia riva chips 
supports controlling the TV converter on then......    and.... i haven't 
upgraded to X 3.3.3 yet.... so i don't know how well the server 
works..... but the FAQ sayz it's there.......  and it'll do 1920x1200 
with 16.7 million colours if ur monitor can do any such resolutions :) 
....... i've only had mine up to 1600x1200 with 16.7 million i don't 
have access to a monitor that can do more....... well ok i'm going to 
stop now..... i hope somewhere in my babble is something of some 
help....
