sound problems

I have a Yamaha opl3 sound card.  I am trying to get sound out of
Linux (BSWare 5.1).  In win95 the resources are listed as:

irq: 5
dma 00
dma 01
io range: 220-22f
io range: 530-f57
io range: 388-38b
io ragne: 330-331
io range: 370-371

The line it says to put in the autoexec.bat is:
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4

I understand A220 I5 and D1, what is T4 and what relevance does it
have?

I don't make this stuff up.  I just report it.  Anyway, I have tried
every combination of settings possible in sndconfig and nothing works.
 Any ideas?
