Re(2): Compile the new kernel or not?

I think I will try the dual boot.
are there any sites which have information on packages that would need to
be updated
for the 2.2.x kernel?
Oh yea, another question (sorry for my ignorance!!!)  
	what does the 2.2.x mean?
	I read something about if one of those numbers is an odd number it is
still in the debugging stage
	so is the second "2" that you look for or the "x" number?
