Re: Hardware Compatibility

ok where to start :)
first... no need for an SB live unless u play alot of windows games or
do midi shtuff... the pci126 (or 64) will do eveything the live will
except have cheaper wavetables... and an ensoniq audioPCI is far more
than enough for functional sound... an ESS1868 is enough for sound...

CELERONS ARE BETTER AT 32bit CODE than AMD :) ..... plain and simple...
a celery 300A or above is a p2/ppro type core 686 arch. and all.... but
if you REALLLLLLY want an AMD i wont stop you....
videocard.......... hmmm....... you sure you want matrox.... take a
glance at something nvidia based.... i have a rivaTNT based card with 16
megs ... accelerated in X... i've ran it up to 1600x1200x32bpp on a
borrowed monitor... and available mailorder for about 100.... (for the
creative labs) .......
umm SCSI is nice....... :)

actually.... even celerons ... are better than amds at most code.... :)
and CHEAP!! :) Celeron 300A (128k cache) last i looked was 56 dollars
or someting mail order.... and they hum beutifully on BH6's and P2B's
:) ....... (i have a 300a on a bh6 with 64 megs of ram)

umm....... 128 is a good number ram is cheap...... buy some :)
