what about environmental audio and support for 4 speakers? i think only the
pci128
does but i might be wrong.
I think that's the main reason people would buy a sblive..and EAX.
heck, if you just want sound, your right, just get a cheap ESS card.

I'd rather buy an AMD over an Intel product any day. but yeah, I've heard alot
of good things about the Celeron, from what i heard it has a 450mhz (or
maybe it was 400)
core. so when you put it in a BX board overclocking it to 467mhz is like no
problem.
heck all you need is one fan and the chip barely gets hot.
I've also heard that some people have gotten the celeron 400a as high as
600mhz.
from what I've heard a celeron 400a is actually faster for games then a
Pentium II 400
because of the faster L2 Cache, but for apps it just plain sucks compared
to a pentium II.
if i were to buy an intel processor, it'd defiantly be the celeron over the
p2, mainly because i don't feel like
paying a few hundred extra for practically the same thing. and i don't care
if my office apps start 2 seconds quicker.

have you even seen ram prices lately? locally 128megs is expensive anywhere
you go, even bestbuy.
i don't know their current price but I'm sure it's around 200.
I remember paying $64 for 64 megs a few months back, they just keep going
higher.
i saw 128mb of pc100 CAS Latency 2 SDRAM on some site for like $300, that's
way to expensive.
