If the XFree86 page says it's supported, then it probably is.

Your problem could be that you have an old version of XFree86,
which probably does NOT support the card.

XFree86 has been updated to newer versions at least 2 or 3 times
since Redhat 5.1.  I recommend you upgrade to Redhat 5.2, or at
least upgrade your XFree86.
