Nah. I've got a RedHat 5.2 box with two ethernet cards, and demand diald ppp
modifies the routing table acurrately. And other ppp uses ssh to establish
a secure IP route to another private network via the connection to
the intrenet via the other ppp. The ifup scripts happilly work for all
this stuff.
Dou you have "defaultroute" as a pppd option or in /etc/ppp/options?
