You have to mount it first.  As root type mount /mnt/cdrom.  To see what's
on the cd you can go to it by typing cd /mnt/cdrom.  Once there you can see
the contents by typing ls -l (the -l gives a long descriptions (files,
sizes, directories, etc.) of the cd).
