Startmenu in Afterstep??  hmmm are you talking about desktop environment
with Afterstep as the windowmanager or what?  Or are you talking about
adding applications to the wharf bar?

Afterstep has been kind of lagging in development and I had some problems
finding FAQ etc on configuring it...  Windowmaker is pretty darn close and
almost done with a new stable version... You might want to try that... Also
look in your ~/.xinitrc and see what you are loading... more than likely if
you have a panel or a "startmenu" at the bottom or top of the screen that is
your desktop environment.  You would see something like exec startkde & in
the .xinitrc file...   Sorry can't help more but need to know some
specifics....
