~/.xinitrc holds the start up settings for your xsession... if you look in
that file you will probably find something to the extent of exec startkde &
then something like exec wmaker or whatever window manager you are using...
Simply change the windowmanager portion to fvwm95... Since both have panels
you can disable kde by commenting out the exec startkde....
