Looks good so far. Can you tell us if you have something like OnTrak disk
manager or something installed? Is LBA (CMOS setting) turned on or off? Are
you installing from a "genuine" Red Hat CD, a knock off, or over a network?

Something happens between these two events? Does it make all the filesystems

You mean it is hung at this point? There are no further messages? Can you
Ctrl-Alt-F2 to a diffrent console?
What type of machine is this exactly? Some versions of Compaq, NEC, and Acer
require special nursing to run anything except DOS.
Do you have anything like that strange BIOS level Virus protection turned on?
I've had that cause systems to puke on Linux. Apparently everything but M$ is
viewed as an infection, I think it should be the other way around.
