I wonder if it might be running out of space on one of those
filesystems. Maybe try making them all one for the moment, and see how
it does... Just 1 / and swap. I know it's kludgy and all, but it
might give you another idea. Also, as Steven was saying, check the
parameters in CMOS. You shouldn't even have to define your secondary
master in CMOS(BIOS doesn't have to see a drive for Linux to be able to
use it.)
Also, what is the rest of your hardware like? Motherboard, ram, etc?
If you're in the Kalamazoo area, bring it into the next linux
installation party. They do good work.(that's how I got mine up the
first time, then I found out that my Network card wasn't supported by
the kernel drivers in that version.
