I don't know if he's still pissed, but he was so completely convinced 
that microkernels were the wave of the future that he was ignoring
sound engineering.

Nothing "reportedly" about it. Tannebaum writes this to Linus in the thread
that is published. Pity I loaned out my copy, I'd scan it and show ya.
