Re:lpx not recognized
Hi, all:
Ok, I checked in the .config file, and there were
no settings for CONFIG_PARPORT or CONFIG_PARPORT_PC. I
(using 'make config') set CONFIG_PRINTER to Y.
Recompiled, remade the modules, copied the new kernel
to the boot location, etc., and still, no parallel
ports are recognized by the print configuration tool.
Other info about the system:
The parallel port is integrated into the m/b
(Pentium system).
I insured that I am compiling any necessary m/b
bug fixes into the kernel, so that should not be an
issue.
There was one other strange occurance. After I
reinstalled RH, I ran the print tool, and it did
recognize lp1; as soon as I installed a printer for
it, however, that port was no longer recognized.
Any other suggestions? TIA.
