Re:lpx not recognized
Hi all:
OK, I recompiled the kernel, copied it over, and
restarted, but this did not fix the problem. lp0, lp1,
and lp2 are still not recognized by the print tool. I
did force the CONFIG_PRINTER to Y in make config, but
there were no entries for CONFIG_PARPORT or
CONFIG_PARPORT_PC. Interestingly, after I reinstalled
RH, I tried to set the printer up, and print tool did
find lp1. (I was under the impression that a DOS/Win
'LPT1:' should show up under Linux as lp0, but ok,
I'll try anything once...;) I ran through the
configuration to set up the printer, but it did not
work, and ever since, none of the ports are
recognized. Any other suggestions? TIA.
