Java: An Overview
Java is Sun Microsystem's object oriented programming language for the
World Wide Web. Java applications can operate on X Window System (like
Linux), Macintosh, and MS Windows machines, simultaneously, with no
change to the program, and can network between these machines
transparently. One machine or a thousand, Java can bring life to your
computing environment. Find out what is being done with this exciting,
developing technology, and what can do for you.
Robert Kiesling has been writing with computers, and writing about
computers, for over 15 years, and has been using Linux since 1991. The
maintainer of the Linux Frequently Asked Questions with Answers (FAQ)
list, and editor of Dr. Linux 6th Ed. and Linux Systems Labs' Linux
Installation and Getting Started.| Other Linux related publications
include the teTeX HOWTO, the RCS Mini-HOWTO, and the Linux
Documentation Project Style Guide. Robert has made several previous
presentations to the group, and we welcome him back from clear accros
Michigan!
