The ACTUAL meeting this week...

Apologies to all about the last few weeks' meeting notices. They have
consistently been 1 week out of date. Someone who volunteered for the
opportunity to help out by taking over the operation of the web site has
apparently opted out of this position, but regretfully failed to inform anyone
of this choice. Although I would have preferred that this person simply
performed according to his word, he has clearly not been able or willing to do
so, and has in addition not seen his way clear to inform us of his change of
heart.

It is therefore with some regret, but with reasonable expectations, that I
would like to invite people to volunteer for the position of web master for our
current web site. Anyone who would like to take up this position are invited

Now, this week we have a Beginners' meeting:

This meeting is intended for those who are curious about Linux, or want some 
help getting started. Bring your computer to the meeting, and have Linux
installed on it, at no charge. With a little advance notice, you can also
bring home your own Linux CD-ROM, produced locally. You can also come, meet
with us, and have your questions answered about Linux, for home, or for your
business. 

Nows the time to get started! Linux is becoming a mainstay of many kinds of
free software, and free choice.  

It would be helpful for everyone involved if you drop a note to any KLUG
officer (see the officer's page on the web site) regarding your desire to
bring a machine to the meeting, either for Linux installation or for the 
solution of specific technical issues. We are currently overhauling our 
approach to beginners' meetings, in order to give people a better start 
with Linux.
