Linux Revolt
I was just reading an article about the Great Linux Revolt of 1998 in
Linux Journal (an old issue). Basically, a bunch of Linux folk held up
signs and passed out Linux CDs in front of Fry Electronics which was
staying open late to distribute the premiere editions of Windows 98.
I think it would be just rad to stage our own little protest (at best
buy or something...??). We could pass out CDs, wave banners, cause
trouble... sounds like a lot of fun to me. I'm sure the Computer Club
of WMU would be willing to donate some money to buy CDRS and maybe make
some signs. If each KLUG member gave some $ and a bit of time (or just
donated some blank CDRs) we'd have quite a substantial amount of Linux
to give away...
Just a thought... I am assuming that Windows 2000 eventually does get
released.
