Re: It's never easy, is it?
> Since Netscape doesn't support my visual (4 bit PseudoColor), it uses a different palette (apparently) and so my screen colors swap around every time my mouse moves over a Netscape window. I can live with that for a while. (Unless someone has an easy fix, I've tried all 4 visuals indicated by xdpyinfo and they all have similar results. But this is not the real problem. Read on.)
You can try starting netscape with the "-install" option:
netscape -install
to give netscape it's own color map. It helps in 8bpp color.
I don't know about 4bpp.
The best option (obviously) is to get a better video card
that supports more colors.
