My thoughts are that you can get a great video card these days for around
$30. I just left the world of 8 bit color myself, I really don't miss those~
falshing screens as you move the pointer. I have never seen a monitor that~
limited the number of colors, but it will probably limit your resolution.
My 8511 PS/2 monitors will only to 640x480, but they'll do it in 16 bit
color (of course I don't actually use these things anymore). An 8513 should
do at least 1024x768, and 8514 is a strange beast and I'd rather not
comment. But go with a LOW refresh rate on these old birds.
