Thankyou everybody for your responses.  I think I'm pointed in the 
right direction now, though I won't be able to try any of this for a 
couple of days.  I think I'll go with the supplemental disk that Mr. 
Brown mentioned, as I'm not trying to install over a network and the 
docs mention a "second installation disk".  I'm thinking second = 
supplemental.  I'll find out and let you all know.

FYI:  Mandrake is very similar to Red Hat, 99.99% similar 
according to thier literature.  I couldn't tell you anything concrete 
about similarities or differences as this is the only Linux distribution 
I have experience with.  

I do know that Mandrake has put a lot of focus on ease of 
installation, making the "getting started" phase easier, which, as I 
understand it, is what makes most people decide that Linux isn't 
worth the hassle.
