You use smbprint I presume? Do you use ghostscript as a print filter or the
local Star Office print drivers?~

Gimp attempts to enurmerate the printers by parsing /etc/printcap (a lovely
feature, why can more linux apps to this?, Netscape)? If it doesn't think
there are any queues there it will be greyed out. Can you send a copy of
your /etc/printcap to the list?~
