INTEL PENTIUM III 450 CPU
INTEL BX MB W/ 512K CACHE
Great, no complaints their.
64MB PC 100 SDRAM
Eh. Not a big fan of PC100 SDRAM, it can be flaky, I'd prefer something like
EDO or maybe even ECC, but it will probably work. Ask how they get to 64MB (4
16's, 2 32s, 1 64) so you can add more without having to remove anything.
6.4 GB UDMA HARD DRIVE
It works. I won't go into the technology assumptions behind UDMA-ATA, as we've
hashed it out on this list lots of times.
ATI RAGE II 3D AGP VIDEO CARD W/ 8MB
XFree86 lists this card as supported as "3D Rage II", this card uses the Mach
64 server.
40X CD-ROM
Yep.
YAMAHA 719 SOUND CARD
This is not listed on the Redhat FAQ as supported, so I don't knwo if it works
with the free drivers. But it IS listed as supported by OSSPro ($20), the
commercial drivers. If you do any real multimedia I recommend the $ drivers
anyway, they support more features, better MIDI, and full duplex.
120 WATT STERERO SPEAKERS
Cool.
1.44 MB FLOPPY DR
Wow! Really?
PCI 56K V.90 FAX MODEM
Are we sure this IS NOT a Win Modem?
106 KEY WINDOWS 98 KEYBOARD
Great. Did you know you can program those extra keys in X as well?
PS2 INTERNET MOUSE
Make sure it has THREE buttons, X wants three buttons, and you'll want to
make X happy.
ATX TOWER CASE WITH 250 WATT POWER SUPPLY
Gotta stick all that crap in something.
WINDOWS 98 ADD $89
Hah!
