An interesting message in the log [perhaps]

Since I had promised myself that I would browse through my logs on some
rainy day, today was IT, and I found the following:

Sep 29 13:51:21 chico syslog: Control message updated refresh rate

This message appears at irregular intervals, maybe every 25-75 minutes,
and on only one machine [chico], which is the Internet gateway for the
LAN.  Going through older logs, I can see that this started about 10 days
ago.

Any ideas as to what this means, folks?
