The answer to configuration is ... LinuxConf,  it is a GUI that does more
things then it doesn't do,  has change logs and commit states (like IBM's
SMIT tool).  It certainly has WAY more buttons in it than Control Panel.
Every major distro that I know has it integrated with it out of the box.  You
can use LinuxConf on an ascii terminal, an X display, or via a web browser.~

Just pointing this out as I don't think this tool/feature gets the press it
deserves.  Linux most definately has a standard GUI configurator, and has
had for quite some time.~

But then,  I still use the command line and vi,  but only becuase my
UNIX use predates Linux,  and old habits die hard.
