played with a lucent wavelan system over the summer... though it was with
MS products (95, CE).  i think the base runs about $2000, with each card
about $400, roughly.  and i have no clue if they have linux/solaris
support.. 

i have some friends who are running a wireless lan between their duplexes
so they can share the link to their isp.  off the top of my head, i cant
remember what the use (i'm staring at page of vendors.. and still cant
remember... too early in the morning i guess..), but it DOES work with
linux.  i'll have to ask...
