imho, if you have the need for >2gigs of ram, and dont know how (or can't
figure out how) to patch your kernal, well... perhaps your in the wrong
business...

too true.. but, if sys-admins and college students refuse to work with ms
stuff, perhaps change will occur... tho, maybe not..

naw, short of a large alcohol and drug habit, that money's not going
anywyere fast..

a couple other interesting points i noticed re-reading the page:

o Follow the link about TCO. its about NT v. Solaris running on
Sun hardware. duh.. sun boxen are expensive. intel and friends
are cheap. Solaris (compared to linux) is expensive.
"There is no reason to believe that Linux is significantly different
than other versions of UNIX when it comes to TCO."
Lets compare apples to apples here....linux is NOT solaris...

o "Linux lacks a commercial quality Journaling File System"
"There are no commercially proven clustering technologies to..."

Capitolism... where all good things cost a fortune.... not.

o "The Linux operating system is not suitable for mainstream usage by
     business or home users."
home users? this article mentions nothing of home users!..

ok.. i could rant on and on, but i have like 3 class projects to get
working on.. and hey! i can do them all from my desk! what a value what a
deal! how much would YOU pay for this important service? :))
