The old profound answer applies: it depends. If it was me I would make the
decision based on cost. The throughput I think would be similair, assuming
there is no 128K limit on the cable modem, if there is DSL MIGHT be faster,
but DSL comes in lots of speeds. Also the cost of the "modem" might be a
factor. DSL is theoretically more secure as cable is a broadcast medium, also
the DSL people probably don't have a policy against running servers that TCI
does have. But I have read some articles lately debunking the "cable modems
are insecure" rant, very interesting, that ISDN or DSL really aren't that
secure either if someone is intent on listening. Apparently analog is actually
the most secure, as it barely works anyway, reconstructing a modem-to-modem
conversation requires about $70k of equipment and alot of patience.

I have no strong feelings on the issue except that I would love to have either
option.
