However, I think it's important that a differing opinion be expressed in order to help you see that Linux is not all roses for some of us. There's lots of places for improvement in Linux. Bob knows this. A discussion such as this can help ferret out those places.

Maybe I have no say, But I personaly like hearing different viewpoints
on the subject.
I Find that microsoft products are a lot easier to setup and get to
using, But,on my system I generaly have a lot of crashes and screw-ups
regardless of the OS I use,I pretty much reconfigure my system on a
weekly basis,It's mostly a test bed for troubleshooting hardware. But on
the systems that I have set up for my Kids to use at home, It's set to
dual boot win95 and mandrake 6.0, On that system, I have had to
re-install/or rework windows 3 times in 5 months, and linux only once and
that was because of an error on MY part when I was trying to install my
scsi cdr in that machine, And I could have straightened it out without
re-installing (I think),but it seemed easier to do so.
My view is that I would rather have a more complicated install
process, and a more reliable end, than an easy install, and an iffy use.
Case in point, the system I am using now I have setup for my sister
(invalid,and spends a LOT of time on-line)
But I have been away for about 1 month, and I've spent most of the day
reinstalling drivers for the scanner, printer, and modem (win95) on linux,
I MAY have had to delete/add user to straighten it out.
