Nope, that gpm.  GDM is the Gnome replacement for XDM,  which is~
admittadly not the sexiest login manager in the world.  Redhat~
seems to prefer gdm to xdm,  escpecially if you install the Gnome~
desktop (obviously).  And the directory should have been /etc/X11/xdm~
and /etc/X11/gdm, I must have mistyped them.  XDM seems to write it's~
log in that directory on some systems.
