Help Wanted: KLUG Needs YOU!

   Hi!
Recently, Scott Yellig confirmed that he is no longer serving as the
"postmaster" for KLUG. Scott started the KLUG mailing list about two years
ago, and has done an excellent job of helping keep the mailing list in
shape over a period of tremendous growth. Scott does not leave out of
disinterest or boredom, but he is now in college, and his studies and
other interests take priority. While I am wearing this hat temporarily,
and as a caretaker, I would very much like to see some come forward to
fill this position.

Scott's exit brings me around to a couple of topics that call out for
attention; I welcome commentary and other reaction...

I. Summary of Vacant Positions

The listmaster post is not the only one vacant; we need to fill the
position of ftpmaster and (very important) Publicity Director. Please take
a look at these THREE open positions; they are described at:

   http://klug.armintl.com/organize

If we do not fill these positions, KLUG is less able to support and serve
the activities and needs of Linux users. One way to give something back to
our little "community" is to use a little of the knowledge gained here to
help run the group. You don't need to be a kernel hacker of networking
guru to help operate KLUG.

II. Elections Coming ! !

Some of our Positions at KLUG are filled by a nomination and election
process. I want to take this chance to inform everyone that this is coming
up soon, an exact schedule and a description of the process will be post-
ed shortly.

Some of our elective officers may not want to run again. Perhaps you think
it is time for a change in leadership. Either way, this is your best
chance to change the group, and get involved. Please look over the
position descriptions at the URL posted above, and see if you would like
to stand for election to any of the positions that require it. I'm sure
that the current office holders will answer any questions regarding the
positions they now hold; you are also welcome to send inquiries directly
to me.

As always, I look forward to any responses...

                                                        Regards,
                                                        ---> RGB <---
